The right to a trade mark is acquired through application and registration with the national, European, or international trade mark offices. Registered trade marks may be transferred, licensed and utilized.

Law Relating to Firm Names

Rights to a firm name arise by using a designation as the name of a company in business transactions. Choosing the name it has to be observed that this cannot be confused with an already existing name of another company. Otherwise there is the danger of suits for discontinuance and claims for damages.
