Internet Law
All legal problems associated with the use of the internet are covered by Internet Law. There is no separate law for this area but the general legal regulations apply, taking into account the special features of the internet.
When choosing a domain name for your internet presence, the trademarks and company rights of third parties must be considered. The content of websites must not violate Criminal Law, Competition and Advertising Law, Copyright and Trademark Regulations. The imprint obligation regulated in the Telemedia Act (in Germany: TMG) must be fulfilled and the data protection provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act (in Germany: BDSG) must be complied with. In the case of online trading, the information obligations and cancellation policy regulated in the German Civil Code (in Germany: BGB) must also be observed.
